Two brothers and a push mower backed by a vision, blue collar work ethics, integrity, and a business based on someone greater than them. My brother, Eddie DeLoach, started TideWater in 1984. He left Kaiser Chemicals in North Carolina and moved back to Savannah, Georgia to open the doors. I left coaching college football at Georgia Southern and joined him in February 1987.

We started with a Toyota, a Gravely and a trailer. We had three employes at that time and a lot of sweat equity. Now 23 years later, we still have the first guy we employed with about 150 more all sharing the same vision.

Our business has continued to grow each year. We have expanded through out the United States with many different companies. These companies do business the old fashioned way - a handshake and your word is all that is needed. TideWater would not have been given this chance without the following people believing that Eddie and I could do the job: at GMH with Bill Sweeny, Chris Williams, Mark Levin, Thressa Edelman, Louis DeRogatis, Bruce Robinson and Denise Hubley; at Michaels Military with Ann Eustice, John O'Donnell, Linda Toot, and Ron Hanson; at Balfour Beatty Construction with Geoff Hutcherson and Jim Taylor;and at Pinnacle Military Housing with Leslie Catlin and John Corriher.

All small businesses that continue to grow, know that it takes "luck" to be at the right place at the right time. My definition of luck given to me by my old head football coach, Coach Erk Russell, is "where preparation meets opportunity." We have been the luckiest business in America the last 23 years and hope to share this vision with other people and other companies for the next 23 years.

We provide the latest OSHA approved equipment in the field of any service that TideWater provides. Whether it is in grounds maintenance, tree surgery, sweeping, landscaping, or irrigation we are prepared to provide anyone with first class service.
